This is a specialist training course leading to a Level 7 CMI Certificate in Management and Leadership. Upon completion of this week-long course and subsequent written tasks, the successful candidate will be awarded a Level 7 CMI Certificate in Management & Leadership showing the CMI units achieved. In addition, the successful candidate will receive a transcript from the International Centre for Parliamentary Studies certifying the specialisation in Strategic Transport Planning.

Coherent strategic plans are integral to the successful coordination of financing systems, donor assistance, and international and national programmes. Increasingly, the conditions for investment in states, whether official development assistance, foreign direct investment or other forms of financing, require clear and focussed sector planning. Strategic planning is therefore a vital element for obtaining the necessary resources to promote change and is a crucial element of good governance mechanisms.

This internationally recognised programme aims to improve policy making and strategic capacity in the transport sector, enabling more effective management of critical transport planning issues. Through discussions with some of the leading professionals in the sector from all around the world, this week-long course will provide participants with an insight into current issues of local and national strategic transport planning. It will explore a variety of concepts such as technological change, sustainability, viable options, supply chain management, and social, political and economic factors which will facilitate the delivery of the desired goals of faster, further and friendlier mobility in relation to a variety of transport modes. Participants will also gain experience in drafting successful proposals to obtain funding for transport projects from donors.

This is a one-week course which takes place in London, although we are also able to organise the course in your own country if this is your preference. It is internationally recognised and gives you highly sought after transferable CATS points.
